Dr. Amanda D. Sankar

Biography

Amanda Sankar, MD, is a hematologist within the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Blood & Marrow Transplant and an assistant professor at The Ohio State University. Dr. Sankar’s clinical interests are in general hematology, in particular sickle cell disease and coagulation disorders.
Her research interests include sickle cell disease complications such as acute chest syndrome, vascular permeability, and fluid management, iron metabolism and red blood cell differentiation, as well as bleeding disorders and complications of thromboembolism such as pediatric stroke. Dr. Sankar also has an interest in medical education; she supervises and instructs medical students and residents in the care of hematology patients the inpatient and outpatient setting and is the Associate Program Director for the Hematology/Oncology/BMT Fellowship Program.
Dr. Sankar attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine and received residency training from the University of Toledo Department of Pediatrics. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Michigan as well as an additional year of fellowship training in hemostasis and thrombosis.

Prof. Dr. Alok Srivastava

Alok Srivastava is Professor-Research and Head, Haematology Research Unit, St. John’s Research Institute and Senior Consultant, Department of Clinical Haematology in the St. John’s Medical College Hospital at Bengaluru, India.
Prof. Srivastava has been involved with the management of patients with bleeding disorders for over 30 years. His recent focus has been on novel therapies including gene therapy for hemophilia.
Prof. Srivastava is President of the Indian Association for Haemophilia & Allied Disorders. He is also the Chairman of the Association for Haemophilia & Allied Disorders – Asia-Paciﬁc. He was the chair of the FVIII/IX subcommittee of the SSC of the ISTH from 2006-2010 and currently serves on the SSC Gene Therapy steering committee. He is a member of the board of the WFH and was the WFH Vice-President (Medical) from 2012-2014. He has led the writing group for all three editions of the WFH guidelines for the management of hemophilia

Dr. Ibrahim Al Ghaithi

Biography

Dr. Ibrahim Al Ghaithi is a Canadian- and US-board-certified Consultant in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with over two decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience in healthcare. He holds a medical degree from Sultan Qaboos University (2001), completed his residency in General Pediatrics at McGill University (2009), and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Calgary (2012), where he also earned a Master’s in Medical Education.
He served as a Senior Consultant at the Royal Hospital, Oman, where he held several leadership roles, including Director of Education & Training and Head of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Division. He also led various national healthcare initiatives, including the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, the Innovation & AI Program under the Oman eHealth Strategy, the Real-World Evidence & EBM Program, the MOH Medical eLibrary, and the MOH ePortal.
His expertise bridges clinical excellence, strategic healthcare development, and digital transformation. His research and professional interests include medical education, pediatric hemostasis, and digital health. He is an active member of multiple international medical societies.

Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khanani

Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khanani has served as the Chief of the division of pediatric hematology oncology since May 2014 and as a Consultant Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist at Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, UAE, since June 2005. In this role, he offers diagnostic services and specialized care for children under 15 years old with bleeding disorders, leukemia, lymphoma, and bone marrow transplants.
Additionally, Dr. Khanani has held the position of Clinical Associate Professor at UAEU-FMHS in Al Ain, UAE, since May 2008.
He is also actively involved in the Emirates Hematology Society, serving as the Vice President and chair of the hemophilia group. Furthermore, he has contributed to the ﬁeld with over 25 publications in peer- reviewed journals.

Prof. Robert Klamroth

Prof. Robert Klamroth is a leading expert in haemostasis and thrombosis, based at the Vivantes Hospital in Berlin, where he serves as Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Vascular Medicine and Coagulation Disorders and Director of the Comprehensive Care Hemophilia Treatment Center and the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Unit. He has extensive clinical and research experience in haemophilia, including the use of novel therapies such as gene therapy, and has been actively involved in advancing treatment approaches and patient care in this field. He has treated three patients within clinical trials (one in Phase 1/2 and two in Phase 3) and three patients in the real-world setting.

My clinical specialty is pediatric hematology. I care for patients with bleeding/clotting disorders and general blood disorders. Each patient is on a unique journey, and I’ve been gifted the opportunity to be part of their lives. I strive to build a caring, kind, professional relationship while providing medical care.
My desire to serve others as my life’s work inspired me to become a doctor. I was drawn to pediatrics early in medical school. Children are such unique and wonderful human beings to work with. They have tremendous resilience, but at the same time, they have many needs. I became interested in hematology due to the complexity and exciting nature of the coagulation cascade and the need to improve the care of patients of all genders living with bleeding disorders.
I’m also a researcher working to understand the effects of anemia on Von Willebrand’s disease.
During my free time, I love to be with my family, go on walks, enjoy nature and travel. I also like learning about other cultures and unique cuisines

Dr. Haroon A. Mann

Biography

Dr. Mann is a British & USA trained Trauma & Orthopedic Surgeon and graduate of UCL Medical School. Mr Mann is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He is Honorary Associate Professor UCL Medical School.
Mr Mann is a leading international expert of the lower limb with special interests in all aspects of adult and pediatric foot and ankle disorders. He has been extensively trained in the reconstruction of arthritic knee and ankle joints and minimally invasive procedures of the knee, ankle and foot. His particular interests include treatment of forefoot disorders such as ankle trauma complex fractures, OA, bunions, hammertoes, ankle instability, sports and dance related injuries, tendon disorders, pediatric and adult flatfoot disorders. He was awarded the most prestigious Foot & Ankle Fellowship in the USA with world renowned Professor Mark Myerson, which he completed with distinction.
Mr Mann has also written a number of publications, articles and books on the treatment and management of blood disorders, specifically those affecting the knee, soft tissue, ankle, and foot. He is actively involved in research with the Centre for Cell, Gene & Tissue Therapeutics at The Royal Free Hospital looking at the use of Stem Cells in Orthopaedic and musculoskeletal disorders. His team is the first in the UK to successfully treat diabetic ulcers with Stem Cells.

Prof. Davide Matino

Biography

Prof. Davide Matino is an Assistant Professor at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He also works at the MUMC Hemophilia Clinic and the Thrombosis Clinic at the Juravinski Hospital. Prof. Matino obtained his medical degree at the University of Perugia Medical School and his residency training at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 2014. He completed a Clinical Fellowship in Bleeding disorders at McMaster University where he also received his MSc in Health Research Methodology, defending his thesis “Clinical application of the Web-Accessible Population Pharmacokinetic Service – Hemophilia (WAPPS-Hemo): proposal for a pilot study of a population pharmacokinetic approach to tailored prophylaxis in hemophilia”. He then joined the University of Perugia as Assistant Professor in Pharmacology working on a research project focused on the study of the immune response to FVIII in hemophilia, funded through a Young Investigator Award from the Italian Ministry of Health. His research is focused on inhibitor development in hemophilia, adaptive immunity and immunotolerance mechanisms, and the treatment of hemophilia patients with inhibitors. He is an active clinical trial Investigator.

Prof. Tarawah has clinical and research expertise in hemophilia, bleeding disorders and sickle cell anemia. He has more than 140 publications, editor of benign hematology textbook and 10 educational booklets. Reviewer of many hematology journals. He is member of many hematology working groups, committees and societies. He was presedint of 4 international congresses and 16 local Conferences, Leader of 25 conferences Organizing / Scientific Committee, and member of 13 others. Participated at 150 Volunteer / educational / Charity Medical Campaign. Invited Speaker to 47 International / Middle Eastern conferences, and 53 local conferences and symposiums, With more than 500 presentations. He was the principal investigator of 11 research project and co-investigator of 7 projects.
Prof Tarawah was Founder of 5 civil associations and 7 hematology societies in Saudi Arabia and Middle East. Member of many international, regional and local scintivic societies and civil associations. He had led teams for guidelines preprations such as SCA, Hemophilia, vWD, rare bleeding disorders, Thalassemia and other 22 guidelines prpared for saudi ministry of health. Prof. Dr. Philipp Berdel

Philipp Berdel received his medical degree at the University of Bonn in Germany, and then started his residency as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1997 in the Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery of the University Hospital Aachen, Germany. After finishing his training as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2005 and fellowships in Orthopaedic Rheumatology (2006) and in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery (2008), he received the training authorisation in both fields in 2008 and 2010, respectively. In 2011 he reached the highest level of orthopaedic training in Germany, Advanced Orthopaedic Procedures, by the Medical Board Nordrhein, Germany. Since 2013 he lives and works in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE. In 2017 he became one of only 45 certified Orthopaedic Oncology Surgeons of the German Medical Board (out of 13.400 Orthopaedic Surgeons). Dr. Ali Mullah-Ali

Dr Mullah-Ali is a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Consultant with a subspecialty of hemostasis and thrombosis. He is the Head of Pediatric Hematology/Leukemia Unit at NBK Children’s Hospital in Kuwait.
After receiving his medical degree from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh & Glasgow in UK, Dr Mullah-Ali has completed his pediatric Residency Program in 2005 and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In 2006, he got the American Board of Pediatrics. He has completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada in 2008. Since Aug 2019, he is appointed as director of NBK Children’s Hospital in Kuwait.

Dr. Magdy El Ekiaby

Dr. Magdy El-Ekiaby obtained an MD degree from Cairo University in 1978. He has been a member of Egypt’s National Board of Blood Transfusion, Ministry of Health & Population since 1986 and is serving as a member of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) Executive Team, responsible for Arab Transfusion Medicine Forum. He is a member of the organizing Committee of ISBT Working Party on Transfusion Transmitted Diseases and has chaired the Scientific Committee of the XIXth ISBT Cairo Regional Congress, Europe and East Mediterranean, 2009. He is also a Board of Directors member of the World Federation of Hemophilia since 2010.
Dr. El Ekiaby has served the hemophilia community in Egypt since 1985, both through his profession as a hematologist and blood transfusion specialist, and as a member of the board and Vice President of the Egyptian Society of Hemophilia. Dr. El Ekiaby is currently the Head of Blood Transfusion & Hemophilia Centre, Shabrawishi Hospital, a position held since 1983.

She contributes to peer-reviewed publications and serves as a journal reviewer and editorial board member. Dr Mashhood Qazi is a Senior Emergency Medicine Consultant. He has more than 20 years of experience in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Asim Rana is a pediatric hematology and oncology specialist with clinical experience at Dubai Hospital, UAE. He holds an MBBS from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and an FCPS in Pediatrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Dr. Dany Morched Salha is an MD graduate from the University of Debrecen in Hungary. His earlier research, “Special Heart Failure Therapies in Cancer Patients”, examined cancer therapy-induced cardiotoxicity and strategies for its prevention and management.
His current work examines Efanesoctocog alfa in hemophilia A through a systematic review and meta-analysis integrating pivotal clinical trials, long-term extension studies, real-world cohorts, perioperative evidence, patient-reported outcomes, and safety data. His research focuses on evaluating treatment effectiveness, safety, and patient outcomes across different sources of clinical evidence.
Dr. Salha has trained across diverse healthcare environments in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
